1. BE AVAILABLE! Homeschooling is not hard, nor do the actual classes need to take much time, but it is important that your children find you available 24/7.
2. BE INTERESTED! Keep your child's heart, and their hunger for learning, by being interested in all the do and bring to you, even the worms!
3. BE A PARTNER IN LEARNING! Teach researching skills when they are young, creating a habit to serve them when older.
4. BE FLEXIBLE! Do not be so set in schedules and classes that you miss the real learning, bonding and loving experiences.
5. BE THRIFTY! Homeschooling does not have to cost an arm and a leg. God can direct you into terrific opportunities and resources for learning.
6. BE ORGANIZED! This is so important for our peace of mind! Our schools and our homes will run much smoother when we conquer this area. (See article below for ideas, also the Easy Homeschooling books!)
7. BE DILIGENT! Consistency and schedules are important! Habit and hard work at God's priorities, teach more than we realize! (More on this subject in ...Companion. Click here)
8. BE THE EXAMPLE! When our children see that we are under an Authority, and obedient to Him, they will likewise subject themselves to God's and parents' authority.
9. BE LOVING AND KIND! Maintain your peace and don't chase away the Holy Spirit by "blowing up." We can do all things through Christ! It helps to make sure you have a quiet time every morning, no matter how early you must get up!
10. BE BLESSED! Homeschooling is a wonderful opportunity and lifestyle that we would not trade for any other! Enjoy your children. Before you know it, they will be stepping out of your arms into life!

by Lorraine Curry
See much more on spiritual training in Easy Homeschooling Companion. Click here for more info.1. CHOOSE LIFE. God gave us free will so that we can choose Jesus.
2. REALIZE WHO YOU ARE. God made us in HIS image!
3. STAY OUT OF STRIFE. Pray each day together, taking authority over strife, in the name of Jesus.
4. BE THE INFLUENCE, not the one influenced. Teach them that they can be good peer-pressure on their friends.
5. FORGIVE. Unforgiveness hinders growth and blessing.
6. LIVE ABOVE THE WORLD. The Covenant holds the answers for everything concerning us.
7. FEED WELL ON THE WORD. Doubts signal hunger!
8. GOD PROTECTS YOU. Psalm 91, Isaiah 54:17,13 and others.
9. PLEAD THE BLOOD. Just as the Israelites were saved from the Egyptians plagues by the blood of the lamb over their doors, we also covered by Blood of Jesus - by His great sacrifice.

10 Kid-Friendly Organizing Ideas
By Angela Billing
**********************************************************
Here are some tips to help you and your children move towards simple and organized living!
1. Outdoor Toys - Organize outside toys by keeping a large
plastic tub or crate on the porch/deck or in the garage.Go
through and throw away toys that are broken and give away or
sell toys that have been outgrown or are no longer in use.
2. Snacks - Keep children's dishes and snacks on low shelves so
they can access them.3. Baskets - Keep baskets or crates for toys in each room to
avoid scattered toys everywhere.4. Videos - Label all video movies and turn them so that kids
can easily find the movie they are looking for. Go through
and do away with those that you no longer watch.
5. Make a Sandwich Center - Simply put lunch meat, pre-sliced
tomatoes, lettuce and what ever else your children eat on
sandwiches in a plastic container and label it "Sandwich
Center" and learn them to make their own sandwich. All they
have to do is open the fridge and grab the "Sandwich Center"
which contains everything they need to put the sandwich
together and return the container to the fridge when
finished.6. Chore Time - Give children appropriate chores for their
ages. It is so easy for us as parents to do it ourselves to
save time and arguments but this is not doing our children
any good in the long run. Give them a choice of chores,
trade chores among them in order to combat boredom,
make it a fun process and they will want to do the
chores. When they do a good job let them know. Likewise if
they do a bad job because they are in a hurry, let them know
that also, and have them do it better next time.
7. The Night Before - A great way to relieve morning stress is
to do what you can the night before. Children can take a
bath, lay their clothes out for the next day, get their books together
and have ready at an accessible place.
8. Donate Toys - Have children go through toys and donate them
or help them have a yard sale and earn extra money.
9. Pick Up Time - Have kids use 5 - 10 minutes daily to pick up
their room and this will save a lot of time when room
cleaning day rolls around because they have stayed somewhat
ahead of the mess.
10. Backpacks - Have kids clean out their backpacks and launder
or wipe them clean once a week.Throw away all papers that
are no longer any good and only return the items needed for
the week or next day.

10 Tips for Building Positive Family Relationships
By Mark Sichel LCSW**********************************************************
1. Zip it. Do not respond in anger or fear to a family member.
Keep your thoughts and feelings to yourself as you think about the
most harmonious and helpful way to deal with your relative.2. Listen and do not argue. Hear what your family member is
saying and feeling. Feelings are feelings. They are never right
or wrong and sometimes people just need their family members to listen
and to let them know they are being understood.3. Keep good boundaries and make sure not to violate your family
member's personal space. Give space when your relative needs
space.4. Promise yourself that you will stay in the driver's seat and
remain in control of your emotions.5. Use the principle of "what you see is what you get:" with
your family, because you cannot change them; you can only change your
reactions and responses to them.6. Focus on building up rather than tearing down your relative.
Focus on their positives and ignore their negatives.7. Put yourself in your family member's shoes and try to
empathize about what they must feel.8. Don't dredge up old battles and try to change the past. You
cannot. You can, however, focus on making the present and future
positive.9. Build shared experiences with your family member that are
positive, fun, life affirming and will serve as building blocks to a
good relationship.10. Get support and help from other family members, self help
groups, therapy - whatever and wherever you find it, give
yourself the support you need to make this relationship different
than in the past and create a bond that will serve you well in
building family.Copyright 2004: Mark Sichel is a psychotherapist, consultant, and
