- Relax and Celebrate!
IMPORTANT AFTERWORD Zephi sent and gave out about 55-60 invitations. There were 30 people at event, although we expected many more as some invitations were to families. We had lots of food left. You can avoid my mistake by figuring 50% of the number of invitations, not people invited.
I was glad that our reception hall was in our town, because we spent a little time each day for a week preparing there.
Your plans may differ depending on what you and your graduate want. Above list is based on Zephi's graduation and reception, celebrated April 28th, 2001.
Zephi had her own list, which included making origami animals for table decorations, handwriting her invitations in Spencerian, preparing her speech and choosing colors.
You may begin to plan your graduation a year or two in advance. We began about 2 months before, which is getting close to the minimum. Since our graduations were scheduled at atypical times, we had no problems with any reservations.

I'm bumpin' in to the junkies
And then I sit in a boring class
Where they tell me I came from monkeys...
But I know a girl who goes to a school
And it's like no other
Her classroom is in her house
And the teacher is her mother
Some say she is a mystery
But she sure knows her history!(CHORUS)
Homeschool girl
She's a homeschool girl
Homeschool girl
Let me in your worldSome girls I know, they dress real wild
For popularity and fame
But homeschool girl sees through all that
And she doesn't have to play that game
All that time at the kitchen table
And still she knows what's up
I like coffee and I like tea
And man she can make a mean cup!
We're about the same age, but don't be mislead
'Cause she's already three grades ahead(CHORUS, 2x)
I'm just praying that my grades don't slip
But homeschool girl, she's talking full scholarship(CHORUS, 2x)
"Techniques" has step lists for many tasks and includes a chapter, "Sailing Through High School." I knew when I penned that title, these years would go quickly, and they have!
